A Pair of Kraak porcelain dishes with blue monochrome decoration, Circa 17th Century.  This beautiful pair of Kraak plates are hand painted decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. The quality of each plate is fantastic!  Each with a painted deer in the center.  Very rare to find a pair in this condition and size.
Provenance:  An important collection: Paris, France.
Reference: Kraak refers to a group of Chinese Blue & White export porcelain, made in Jingdezhen, Southern China.  Kraak wares were shipped to Europe in huge quantities during the late 16th & 17th Centuries.  These wares were frequently featured in Dutch Golden Age paintings of still life subjects with foreign luxuries.
